Qur’ānThe Fire — named so mercy may be sought before it.

7.The Abode That Remains

This worldly life is but play; the Home of the Hereafter is the true life. Death is brought like a ram and slaughtered between the two abodes, and it is called: O people of Paradise, eternity with no death; O people of the Fire, eternity with no death.

Qur’ānThe abode that remains — no death after it, forever.

and this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. and indeed, the home of the hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

Qur’ānThe abode that remains — no death after it, forever.

and they will call, "o malik, let your lord put an end to us!" he will say, "indeed, you will remain."

Adab & method

This page is meant to soften the heart, not to crush it. The Fire is placed here beside Paradise on purpose — the Sunnah never mentions the warning without the hope. Whoever finds only fear in these verses has read half of them; the same texts that describe the Fire describe a mercy that outstrips it for the one who turns back. Read it, and prepare — the one certainty in every life is the journey named on this page.
