Islamic Finance & Transactions (Fiqh)
A depth reference on Fiqh al-Muʿāmalāt — ribā, sales, the Islamic finance instruments, investment screening, and contemporary issues. The four schools and the scholarly range presented fairly.
Educational guidance, not a fatwa. For your specific situation, consult a qualified, trustworthy scholar.
This is an educational reference — NOT a fatwa and NOT financial or investment advice. Contemporary issues here (insurance, mortgages, crypto, forex…) are genuinely contested; the scholarly range is shown and no disputed matter is declared settled. For your own case, consult BOTH a qualified scholar AND a competent Islamic-finance advisor.
Ribā — Usury & Interest
Ribā is the single most emphatically prohibited transaction in the Sharīʿah. Its two classical forms — ribā al-faḍl (excess in a like-for-like exchange) and ribā al-nasīʾah (the increase tied to deferral, the ribā of pre-Islamic loans) — frame the whole law of exchange, and they are the lens through which modern interest is judged.
