Qur’an 15:9

The final revelation preserved

Supporting context

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ

Allah guarantees preservation of the Reminder, so the final community is not left without protected revelation.

The Messenger ﷺ was sent with guidance and the religion of truth to make it manifest over every religion.

Key Scholarly Questions

Concise answers that point back to the primary evidence

Does khātam mean only “a seal,” without finality?

The Qur’anic expression is interpreted by the Prophet ﷺ himself: “I am the final brick and the Seal of the Prophets,” “there is no prophet after me,” and “prophethood has ended.” The hadith corpus therefore controls the lexical discussion and removes the proposed ambiguity.

Does the return of Jesus عليه السلام contradict finality?

No. Jesus عليه السلام is an earlier prophet returning, not a prophet commissioned after Muhammad ﷺ. Sunni explanations state that he returns as a follower of the final Messenger’s law, not with a new prophethood or scripture.

Do true dreams or inspiration continue prophethood?

No. Tirmidhī 2272 first states that messengership and prophethood have ended, then identifies truthful dreams as mubashshirāt—glad tidings. They do not create a prophet, revelation-law, or authority over the Qur’an and Sunnah.

Is this page claiming to contain every historical argument?

No finite page can honestly contain every passage written across fourteen centuries. This is a comprehensive curated map of the decisive primary texts and major classical evidence available in Hidayah24, with direct links for deeper research.
