How memorisation works
Follow these six steps every day. Start a session below and the trainer walks you through each one for the ayat you pick.
- ①Choose a small portion — 1 to 5 new ayat is ideal. Small daily wins beat occasional marathons.
- ②Listen to a qari several times while reading along, until the melody and tajweed are clear.
- ③Repeat the ayah aloud yourself many times (use the ×N loop) before trying to recall it.
- ④Hide the words and recite from memory. Reveal only to self-check — this is what fixes it.
- ⑤Connect (sabqi): recite the new ayah joined to the previous ones so the page flows as one.
- ⑥Revise daily: every day repeat new ayat (sabaq) plus what is due (manzil) below — never skip review.

The 5-step daily method
Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil — the classical hifz cycle — supercharged with spaced repetition and active recall.
Dual coding: see the words and hear them together. Read along with the reciter and let the sound and shape settle in.
Chunk the ayah word by word and say each aloud. Tap each word as you read it — small pieces stick far better.
Retrieval practice: words are progressively hidden. Recall the missing word before tapping to peek.
The testing effect: the whole ayah is hidden. Recite it fully from memory, then reveal to self-check.
Connect it to what came before (sabqi). Recite this ayah joined with the previous ones, then play the chain.
